This socialite won the hearts of the team at the Royal Horticultural Society’s Award of Garden Merit.

Their delicate wings of white petals with a purplish-blue heart petal similar to a butterfly, keeping society busy with gossip during summer parties. Their purple stamens are seen to raise high, signaling for attention.

Their playground is often rich in well-drained soil, dancing happily in full to partial sun. These exhibitionist seeks the outdoors but can be persuaded to show off in glasshouses/containers.

These butterfly flowers, members of the Family of Lamiaceae, are said to hail from East Africa. Their charismatic foliage needs the occasional pruning to keep them fashionable, or these gregarious butterfly bushes could grow to an awful 10 feet/3 meters high!
